Pakistan born terrorist Jaish Chief Masood Azhar who had been under China protection against India is off China help as China bow out as the UN designates Jaish chief Masood Azhar as a global terrorist.
In the beginning of April, China had reiterated that it was “working hard” to resolve the matter of designating Azhar, as a global terrorist and strongly criticised Washington’s statement about using “all available resources” to do so as counterproductive before the turn around.
Azhar was released by India in exchange of passengers of the hijacked Indian Airlines plane
IC-814 in 1999 and has since directed several attacks by his founded terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammad including an audacious assault on the Parliament in 2001 in coordination with another terror outfit Lashar-e-Taiba.
It turns out after much fight the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has designated Masood Azhar as a global terrorist. India has welcomed the move and are very glad about it.
Is a big win for India, as the United Nations Security Council has designated Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar as a global terrorist today, Wednesday, May 1, 2019.
He was named a global terrorist by the UNSC 1267 Al-Qaeda Sanctions Committee after China lifted its hold on a proposal in this regard by the United States, United Kingdom and France.
Confirming the UN decision on Masood Azhar, Syed Akbaruddin, India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, tweeted:
“Big,small, all join together. Masood Azhar designated as a terrorist in UN Sanctions list.”
What do we say?
