University Of Ibadan Mr A.O. Subair Commits Suicide

Mr A.O. Subair who very recently resigned abruptly as a lecturer of the Department of Mathematics of the University of Ibadan (UI) but still lives within the university, has died under circumstances believed to be suicide at his staff quarters located on Phillipson Road, UI.

A lecturer in the Faculty of Science, which houses the late lecturer’s department, told Sahara Reporters that Subair had been battling depression for years due to challenges in his home and career.

“He already resigned but was still living on campus. His family had issues relating to childcare. He was a Lecturer and had been on his Ph. D. for 22 years, but he had supervised a lot of people who had overtaken him on the rung while he remained rooted to the same spot. He also had issues in his marriage. He and his wife disagreed over the care for one of their children.

The wife sued him, and the court ruled in her favour, giving a directive that N60,000 should be withdrawn from his salary every month. So, he thought, well, if he resigned, there would be no salary to draw money from. His death wasn’t straightforward, like he slept during the day, died during the sleep, his house was engulfed by smoke and he was asphyxiated” said the lecturer, who asked not to be named.

A student of the Department of Mathematics also said that after Subair was discovered in the house on Tuesday, he was rushed to ‘Jaja’, as the University’s clinic is widely known, and subsequently transferred to the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, where he died Wednesday morning.

Suicidal: Chester Bennington Of Linkin Park Band’s Letter To Late Friend Cornell Speaks Volume

The Linkin Park and temporary Stone Temple Pilots singer, who was 41 years old and found dead at his private LA residence Last Thursday evening. Police confirmed that Chester had died from suicide by hanging.

New updates has now been revealed the Hybrid Theory singer wrote an emotional letter to his late friend Cornell who committed suicide just weeks earlier on May 18 where he said to be ‘weeping with sadness’ after his passing away.
Chester Bennington is said to have performed a haunting rendition of Jeff Buckley’s Hallelujah at Cornell’s funeral back  in May.
In the note, posted to Twitter on the day of Chris’s suppose  birthday, Chester wrote:

“Dear Chris, I dreamt about the Beatles last night. I woke up with Rocky Raccoon playing in my head and a concerned look on my wife’s face.
‘She told me my friend had just passed away. Thoughts of you flooded my mind and I wept.’
‘I’m still weeping, with sadness, as well as gratitude for having shared some very special moments with you and your beautiful family.
‘You have inspired me in many ways you could never have known. Your talent was pure and unrivaled. Your voice was joy and pain, anger and forgiveness, love and heartache all wrapped up
into one. I suppose that’s what we all are. You helped me understand that.
‘I just watched a video of you singing ‘A Day in the Life’ by the Beatles and thought of my dream. I’d like to think you were saying goodbye in your own way. I can’t imagine a world without you in it.
I pray you find peace in the next life. I send my love to your wife and children, friends and family. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your life.
With all my love. Your friend, Chester.”

Newsmen heard of his letter to Chris after Chester’s bandmate Mike Shinoda revealed in recent uncovered interview given in May, that the singer was unable to make it through their live performance of One More Light because of its subject matter.

He said: “When we were doing a sound check Chester couldn’t even make it through the song, he was getting halfway through and getting choked up”.

Going by Chester’s suicide with new revelations, that means is safe to say Chester died for his friend, a friend he loved more than his wife, his four sons and two daughters, his family and anyone else. Am just wondering kind of love that could be, Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds was understandable and it wasn’t suicide though Debbie death was caused by Carrie Fisher, but this one of Chester and Cornnell is really creepy that there maybe something more to it.

I can’t even begin to fathom how his wife should be feeling right now, which still depends on a whole lot.
